Hello,
The Farmers Den is situated on 6 acres of a private family-run farm located in Ringwood, Hampshire. We have 2 donkeys, 1 horse, 2 Shetland ponies, 3 adult goats and 1 kid, 4 ducks, 6 chickens and 1 dog.
Our separate building holds a large play room with an open planned kitchen, messy/art room, sleep room and restroom.
Children are able to explore in a friendly, happy, safe and engaging environment where they can become independant individuals.
I am a unique childminder as I have my own setting- all for the children to explore! Children will also to be able to help care for the animals on the farm as well as being able to explore independantly and safely in their own garden.
I love art and messy play! Children are able to express themselves and become little artists in our own special art room.
My provision is to visit Ringwood Library on a monthly basis and have 2 large outings each year- i.e a zoo or soft play.
We can visit the farm on a daily basis. As children's confidence grows, they will be able to participate in feeding and stroking the animals, collecting the eggs from the chickens and ducks and taking the donkeys for a walk around the grounds.
I will encourage healthy eating by giving the children the knowledge and experience of being able to grow their own fruit and vegetables in our vegetable garden. They will also be able to be involved in food preparation and cooking.
I like to inspire children by using our role-play corner to create a variety of real life themes for them to explore. I usually change the role-play every 4-6weeks depending on the childrens interest. So far we have had a kitchen, shop and a grotto.

We are a short drive from Ringwood Town centre where we can visit the Ringwood Library and the Owl and Reptile Centre. The New Forest only a 10minute walk from The Farmers Den with unlimited woodlands for us to explore!
