Trusted tiney homes verified for quality & value.

Every Ofsted registered community member working with tiney must pass a comprehensive 50 point quality inspection, as well as continually deliver against a set of ongoing customer service measures.

Each tiney member sets their own rate, which means we offer a range of tiney homes at different prices to match different budgets.

If you can harness play, you can harness learning. Meet tiney launchpad.

All tiney community members are passionate early years educators. All rigorously follow the Early Years Foundation Stage framework and deliver it in family-style play-centred homes. We call this curriculum approach ‘launchpad’ and it guarantees your child's earliest years will be focused on play-based learning. As well as being lots of fun, evidence shows that structured play accelerates learning and school readiness. Combined with small group sizes that improve language development and clear goals around screen time and outdoor play, tiney homes are an amazing environment for your child to learn, develop and grow.

Why do families trust tiney?

To create tiney we’ve spoken to hundreds of parents and childcare experts to build a new kind of childcare that prioritises the most important needs of modern families.

All tiney community members are hand picked and vetted in their own homes by our education experts. Our standards are more comprehensive than those set by Ofsted, including DBS and first aid training.

Education centred

All tiney community members are skilled educators who deliver the national EYFS inline with our family style, play-centred ethos. Home-based small group sizes improve language development and ensure a high level of school readiness.

Children at tiney benefit from family-style meals, a guarantee of no unsupervised screen time and a healthy lifestyle with energetic out of home activities at tiney neighbourhood groups with other children.

The tiney service is as flexible as modern life demands. Families can request extra childcare or sibling care easily, and with inclusive emergency childcare we guarantee an uninterrupted service.

Family Focused

Using tiney means a great experience when your child is at home too. By tracking your child’s development we provide fun, age appropriate activities through the tiney app to help you play a part in your child’s education.

By combining an exceptional tiney community with modern technology we’re reinventing the childcare experience. Via our app, we ensure that all messaging, billing, bookings and communications are in your pocket whenever you need.

Our aim at tiney is to empower members with the tools, resources and training to make a tremendous impact on the children in their care. We're committed to making tiney homes the best in class: loving, fun, personalised and based on the latest evidence of what works.

How does tiney work?

You let us know where you live, when you need childcare and any special requirements you have. We then send over a hand-picked shortlist of local childcare professionals with up-to-date availability. You decide who you’d like to meet and then you can visit their tiney home in person or chat on the phone. You choose the best fit for you and your child and get going. You stay in the loop with your child’s care with the tiney mobile app.

How is a tiney home different from a traditional childminder?

All our members and their homes are quality assured and vetted in-person by a tiney early years expert to standards above and beyond that of a normal childminder. This takes place at the point they join us and continues throughout their time with us.

Everyone in the tiney community receives continuous support to make sure they deliver a gold standard of care. They get regular best practice advice from our early years experts, business support and active participation in a local tiney community, which offer high quality group activities for children.

You'll also receive a whole host of benefits you won’t get with from a traditional childminder such as insurance, formalised sick cover and emergency childcare arrangements, group events to help your child meet a wider group of playmates and a great mobile app experience for payments, easy bookings and educational progress tracking.

What unique benefits does a home setting offer?

Home-based care gives children the opportunity to build a strong, secure bond with a single adult in a small setting that is ripe for learning. Studies show that children in home-style settings make above average development in early language development and reading.

A home setting is familiar and helps children to settle in easily. Children get family-style routines like lunch around the kitchen table, and trips to local shops and playgrounds or playrooms to their own at home.

The combination of stability and attention means children learn quickly, develop confidence and have fun.

What does tiney charge for childcare?

Our goal is to offer parents value and affordability, whilst ensuring our members can earn a good living wage. tiney’s rates for childcare vary by home and region. We use numerous data-points when we help members establish their competitive rate, including comparisons with other local providers and nurseries, and national benchmarking data published by organisations such as the Family and Childcare Trust.

Tiney may charge a small percentage of the childcare fees in order to fund the support, insurances and digital services we provide. The details of these service fees (if applicable) will be clearly visible to all parties on any invoice or payment receipt.

Can I use my government-funded hours and other schemes with tiney?

Yes, tiney enables the use of both your 15/30 government-funded hours and eligible Tax-Free schemes to pay for your tiney childcare.

Are tiney members employed directly by tiney?

No. tiney members are all self-employed and run independent businesses. We believe this offers the best combination of support and quality assurance from tiney, and autonomy for our members.

Is tiney secure and safe?

Absolutely. We take safeguarding and security very seriously. As parents ourselves, we are dedicated to making sure tiney homes are the absolute best environments for your little ones. All of our tiney homes are Ofsted registered and meet their exacting standards.
